John is a native California resident. Born and raised in the San Gabriel valley. John was raised in El Monte, California and went to U.C. Irvine after graduating from Mountain View High School in 1975.

John later attended Western State University, Fullerton Campus and obtained his Juris Doctor in 1988.

Since passing the bar in 1989, John has primarily focused on family law issues. Early in his career John’s practice included civil litigation, criminal law, real estate litigation and personal injury. Sometime in the mid 90’s John’s focus became primarily centered on family law. John has assisted the court as a family law mediator since 1994.

John regularly appears in courts throughout Southern California. Including, Pomona, Pasadena, Norwalk, Central Los Angeles, Central Civil West, Long Beach, Van Nuys, Orange County, Lameroux Justice Center, Santa Ana, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

John will prepare you and your documents for hearing. John provides full services or just document preparation if you are on a limited budget. The quality of paperwork (pleadings) will be superior to any paralegal work product. Remember a paralegal or notary is not an attorney. Neither can give you legal advice under California law. You need a professional to guide you through your family law problems. Only you will know when it’s time to start the process. Call John for an appointment when it is time.

John is a highly skilled litigator and is willing to have a hearing before the court to advance your position. At hearing John will aggressively pursue your goals. John is willing to go before the court, but will counsel you on the advantages to proceeding to hearing on your issues. Due to the cost of litigation, all issues should be accessed on a cost benefit basis. It makes no sense to spend four (4) hours of attorney time to increase child support by $50.00 a month, it is very important to know the chances of success on your particular issues and retaining Mr. Guzman’s vast experience of over 25 years at trial and hearings is, of course, highly beneficial for you and your case.

Take the time to set an appointment with Mr. Guzman to discuss your family law matter. You will receive an overview of the law applied to your facts. You will be advised of your rights, duties and responsibilities. When it is finally time to do something about your particular problem call John. Make an appointment and learn your rights.
